My husband loves when I make him ribs, but I hate making them. Although I am home more often, I dread the idea of making ribs in the oven. I went onto Pinterest to find some ideas and I sort of combined my way of making them with a few little tricks others have shared.
List of Ingredients
Salt & Pepper
Two bottles of BBQ Sauce
Normally I make my ribs as soon as I get home. Well yesterday I made plain old spaghetti and then prepared the ribs for today. I let them sit in some Apple Juice overnight with a few cloves of minced garlic. I am not going to lie, I was pretty nervous. I woke up today looking forward to making the ribs. First, because I was going to make my husband happy and I was also going to step out of my comfort zone.
I didn’t measure anything, I just kind of threw it all together. I removed the ribs from the apple juice and laid them evenly into a casserole dish so I can season it. I used Salt & Pepper for the seasoning. I was tempted to throw a few more things but I really wanted to see how it would work with just those two. I then laid them into the crockpot as evenly as I could. The instructions read to lay them up onto the side of the crockpot but I had too many. After laying them down flat, I poured a bit of the apple juice w/garlic that it marinated in overnight. I then added some Brown Sugar and two bottles of BBQ Sauce. Waa Laa…now it was time to wait……
I went to remove the ribs from the crockpot 1 hour before it was due to remove because the meat was falling off the bones. I of course had to taste it and OMG….I couldn’t wait to have a plate of food already. I am having fun with my crockpot and I am so glad that I made the ribs in it today. The Pena family will be pleased today with their little surprise :D.
PS. Before serving the Ribs I put them in the oven uncovered for 15 mintues with some more BBQ Sauce.
